DESCRIPTION:Detroit Wheels: Early Motor City Stories\nJuly 17 – August 17\, 2025\n\nA special collaboration between the Detroit Historical Society (DHS) and the Ford Piquette Plant Museum will bring together an extraordinary collection of antique automobiles for a temporary exhibit titled “Detroit Wheels: Early Motor City Stories\,” July 17 through August 17\, 2025. \nThis exhibit in the museums’ first-floor event space features ten rare vehicles from DHS’s collections normally stored in archival “bubbles\,” plus two other historic vehicles: one on loan from the Fair Lane Estate and one from a private collection. The public will have the opportunity to see these priceless cars up close for the first time in many years\, with storytelling\, historic maps and other artifacts. \nThe cars selected represent Detroit’s first heyday of automobile invention and its zeitgeist\, encompassing examples of handmade vehicles\, one-of-a-kind automobiles\, and cars associated with famous Detroit names.
