How to Donate to the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant

Important Things You Should Know About!
Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)
QCD is now a permanent part of the tax law.

Here are the requirements and restrictions for making a Qualified Charitable Distribution:

Please consult your personal tax advisor for requirements and restrictions in regards to
making a qualified charitable distribution.

This may be the right gift for you to make if:

1. You are required to take a minimum distribution from your IRA, but you do not
need additional income.

2. You do not, or cannot, itemize your deductions. A QCD will be excluded from your
taxable income even if you do not itemize other deductions.

3. You want to reduce your Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) for the
calculation of your Medicare Part B premium. Consult your tax advisor about the
MAGI levels that increase premiums.

4. You live in a state where retirement-plan distributions are taxable on your state
income-tax return, but your state does not allow itemized charitable deductions.

5. You would like to make an additional charitable gift, but it would not be deductible
because of the annual limitation of 60 percent of adjusted gross income for
charitable contributions. The Qualified Charitable Distribution is equivalent to a
deduction because it is not included in taxable income.

6. You have an outstanding pledge to a charity. The Qualified Charitable Distribution
can satisfy a pledge without violating rules against self-dealing.

Your support for the mission of the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant can last beyond your
lifetime. A gift to the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant in your will or revocable trust enables
you to support the ongoing restoration, museum improvements and educational
outreach, making a difference for future generations of automotive industry heritage
enthusiasts.

A bequest is:

 Easy to arrange;
 Will not alter your lifestyle in any way; and
 Can be easily modified to address your changing needs.

Bequests do not affect your current or future cash flow and are easy to modify or revoke
if your situation changes.

We have established the 1904 Society to recognize those supporters whose legacy will
last beyond their lifetimes. A special plaque will be displayed prominently at the Plant
with the names of 1904 Society members.

We can provide appropriate language to update your estate documents to recognize a
bequest to the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant, or we can prepare a bequest letter to be

In order to help preserve the unique and historic Ford Piquette Avenue Plant and to
develop its exhibits and educational outreach activities, I hereby pledge the sum of
$_______ to be paid to the Model-T Automotive Heritage Complex, Inc. Endowment
Fund, as a tax-exempt contribution. This sum will be paid from my estate upon my
death; and, with this document, I instruct my executor(s) to do so.
