Saturday, July 26 & Saturday, August 2, 2025 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day Box lunch, water and snacks provided Fee: $100 or $50 per session Includes 2 free passes to the museum’s “Detroit Wheels” exhibit July 16 through August 17, 2025 Scholarships available. (Required safety equipment provided)

Automotive Foundations is a historical and hands-on STEAM workshop for youth ages approximately 14 to 21 presented by the Ford Piquette Plant Museum, the birthplace of the legendary Model T. This program is led by mechatronics and mechanical engineer, Daniel Hodges, founder of Meknology, Inc., in collaboration with Lawrence Technological University.

Saturday, July 26:
Tour & Talk – Guided tour of historic vehicles and their engines.
Resource session with Engineer-in-Residence, Daniel Hodges
Lunch break onsite
Build Session – Assemble specially prepared four-stroke motors with assistance from instructors

Saturday, Aug. 2: 
Tour & Talk – Guided under-the-hood tour of early electric vehicle motors in the museum.
Resource session with Daniel Hodges to discuss functionality and evolu on of electric motors
Lunch break onsite
Build Session – Youth will each assemble an electric motor to keep
Model T driving demonstra on and rides for students
