Thank you for your interest in our education programs at the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant. We look forward to working with you and hosting your students at our museum for a day of learning and fun. We offer a variety of programs for your class. Whether you are interested in a standard guided tour curated for your grade level, a hands-on program, or would like to collaborate on a unique and memorable trip for your students, we are here to help.
Presently we offer the following programs for the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 school years:

Modified virtual tours with an emphasis on STEM/STEAM along with printable activities for your classroom.
Home Schooling:
Do you have a home school group? Let us know. We are more than happy to provide a combination style field trip to ensure everyone in your group is catered to during your visit.
Youth Camps/Scouting:
We offer a variety of activities for your groups. Feel free to reach out to the Education Manager to discuss.
Do you have an idea in which you would like to collaborate on? We love new ideas and one off field trips. We would love to work with you to fulfill your ideas/lesson plans for the day. We do ask at least a month’s advance notice to assist in planning and development. Please feel free to reach out to the Education Manager.

Payment/Reservation Fee:
We do charge a $25 reservation fee to hold the date and time of your field trip. We do not offer refunds on reservation fees, and the charge is applied to your balance. Full payment is due 24 hours before your field trip. We ask this is handled through the teacher or coordinator. We ask a minimum of 48 hour notice in the event your group has to cancel.
Chaperones:
We require the following number of chaperones per grade level:
Pre-K through 2: 1 adult per 5 students
Grades 3-5: 1 Adult per 10 students
Middle School/High School: 1 adult per 20 students
Lunch:
We do not have a cafeteria onsite, however can set-up an area for your group for a nominal additional charge. We do have refrigerators available for bag lunch and do have several restaurants in close proximity in the event you would like to cater (pizza, etc.)
Accessibility:
Our museum is wheelchair accessible. In the event anyone in your group requires a wheel chair, just let us know a day before your group arrives. Our museum begins on the 2nd floor with elevator access from the 1st floor. Please give us a call when your group arrives if the elevator is required. Please note, we take pride in maintaining the preservation of Piquette’s architecture and features. You will find our wood floors can be uneven in many areas throughout the museum.
We do work with local colleges/universities to assist our deaf community. Please inquire if your group would be interested in having an interpreter onsite.
We are in the process of working on tours for the blind and visually impaired. Please stay tuned for updates.

DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, EMAIL IS THE PREFERRED METHOD OF CONTACT AS OUR HOURS HAVE CHANGED AND STAFF IS WORKING UNDER REDUCED HOURS. FIELD TRIPS ARE SUBJECT TO CANCELLATION IN THE EVENT OF GOVERNMENT ORDERS, HOWEVER, WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO RESCHEDULE FOR A LATER DATE AND/OR WITH A COMBINATION OF A VIRTUAL TOUR SHOULD THIS OCCUR. IF YOUR STUDENTS OR CHAPERONES ARE EXHIBITING COLD SYMPTOMS OR ARE SICK, WE STRONGLY SUGGEST THEY STAY HOME FOR THE DAY.
